Mortal Kombatants on the PlayStation 3 platform will have to wait a little longer to participate in the old school arcade battles that Mortal Kombat (2011) offers online. The PlayStation Network was voluntarily brought down last Wednesday in reaction to a security breach:
“An external intrusion on our system has affected our PlayStation Network and Qriocity services. In order to conduct a thorough investigation and to verify the smooth and secure operation of our network services going forward, we turned off PlayStation Network & Qriocity services.”
Problem is, no one knows when the PSN will be up once again and Sony’s not saying. Apparently Sony is rebuilding the Network on the fly to further strengthen their network infrastructure. Unfortunately, the PSN will probably be down for a few more days and the timing couldn’t be worse for all of us MK fanatics. With rich online features such as King of the Hill Mode and plans for downloadable content, PS3 Mortal Kombat players are suffering the most. Hopefully Sony can get the Network back up soon so we can enjoy all of the online features MK offers.
